Raquel Cedar is a NYC-based children’s media writer with a passion for creating aspirational, character-driven stories filled with optimism and heart!
As the daughter of a character actor who read bedtime stories like he was at a callback for The Dark Crystal, Cedar fell in love with storytelling and building out-of-this-world characters at a young age. She received her BFA in writing and directing at NYU Tisch School of the Arts, then worked as a union prop assistant on the sets of Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, to name a few. Cedar’s professional art department experience has made her a distinctly visual and imaginative storyteller.
She received screenwriting accolades as one of eight writers selected for the 2026 Fred Rogers Writers’ Neighborhood Fellowship and is the creator and head writer of the live-action bridge puppet show pilot Wizella Wizel, executive produced by Chris Viscardi and Missing Moon Productions. Most recently, Cedar has developed preschool shows for DreamWorks Animation Television and has written several action-packed episodes of the musical Nickelodeon Digital Studio YouTube series Bubble Guppies Mermaids. When she is not writing or working on set, this California native loves swimming at the beach and bird-watching at the historic Greenwood Cemetery.
